  • Shootings at Minneapolis Homeless Camps Follow Fox Host’s Call to “Just Kill” Homeless Individuals

Blue Press Journal , MN – At least 13 people were injured, five critically, in two separate mass shootings at homeless encampments in Minneapolis on Monday, incidents that have tragically echoed a recent and controversial on-air statement by Fox News host Brian Kilmeade advocating for the killing of homeless individuals with mental illness.

The first shooting occurred around 11:00 AM local time near East Lake Street and Interstate 35W, followed by a second incident only miles away. Details on the perpetrators and motives remain scarce as authorities investigate the horrific attacks that targeted some of the city’s most vulnerable residents.

The timing of these shootings has drawn sharp scrutiny, coming just a week after Kilmeade, during a segment on Fox News, explicitly called for lethal action against homeless people suffering from mental illness. In response to his co-host suggesting imprisonment for those who refuse treatment, Kilmeade chillingly stated, “That’s the way it has to be now. Or, involuntary lethal injection. Yeah. Or something. Just kill ‘em, yeah.”

The incendiary remarks ignited a fierce wave of public outrage, as critics vehemently denounced the callous dehumanization of a marginalized population. Even in the wake of a tepid apology from Kilmeade, he continues to hold his position within the network. This blatant hypocrisy from MAGA concerning the Jimmy Kimmel suspension is utterly unmatched and infuriating.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey addressed the tragic events at a press conference on Tuesday, lamenting, “This is tragic. It’s horrible. It’s unacceptable, and, sadly, it’s not surprising.” Frey’s statement implicitly acknowledges the broader climate of hostility and indifference that controversial rhetoric, like Kilmeade’s, can foster against vulnerable communities.
