  • Trump and Musk’s Threat to Veterans’ Healthcare

President Trump and Elon Musk are proposing a reprehensible plan to strip veterans of their healthcare in order to fund exorbitant tax breaks for billionaires. This morally bankrupt scheme will deprive those who have bravely served our country of the essential care they deserve.

A memo from VA Chief of Staff Christopher Syrek, as reported by Government Executive, reveals a disturbing plan to cut up to 83,000 jobs at the Department of Veterans Affairs. This would reduce the VA’s staffing level to 399,000 workers in fiscal 2019, down from the current 482,000 employees. Shockingly, this plan includes firing 80,000 individuals, 20,000 of whom are veterans. This deliberate dismantling of the VA’s workforce is not only dangerous, but a blatant betrayal of our veterans.

Congressman Chris Deluzio, an Iraq War veteran, has condemned this plan as an attempt to destroy the VA. He warns that cutting jobs and starving the VA of resources will harm veterans and diminish the quality of care they receive. This is not a fight we will back down from. These cuts to the  VA will create understaffing leading to unacceptable wait times for veterans in need.

Trump and Musk’s proposal to sacrifice veterans’ healthcare for the benefit of billionaires is disgraceful and must be vehemently opposed. Our veterans deserve better, and we will not stand idly by while their care is jeopardized.

  • Impact of Government Cuts on National Weather Service Accuracy

Apparently the government, or at least TRUMP, is cutting back on meteorologists at the National Weather Service and NOAA. Because who needs accurate weather forecasts, right? I mean, who cares if you get caught in a tornado or hurricane because the weather app was wrong? And forget about those pesky flood warnings – who needs ’em?

But hey, don’t worry, you can always buy a Farmers’ Almanac for your weather predictions. Because who needs trained professionals when you can just rely on a book that’s been around since the 1700s, that’s really scientific.

And let’s not forget about the brilliant idea to fire all the probationary employees responsible for running the US weather model systems. Because clearly, we don’t need people who are motivated and knowledgeable to keep our weather forecasts accurate.

So, next time you’re wondering why the weather forecast is completely off, just remember – it’s all part of the government’s plan to destroy an organization that actually helps keep us safe. Good job, Trump/Musk administration. Good job.

  • DOGE is Incompetent

Approximately 40% of the federal contracts that DOGE proudly canceled in an attempt to save money are actually not going to save the government any money at all. Shocking, I know. According to the administration’s own data, 417 of the contracts that were axed won’t result in any savings.

Let’s not forget about those “receipts” that Elon Musk’s DOGE loves to flaunt. Turns out, many of them are not receipts at all, but rather agreements with vendors who may do future government work. So, essentially, they’re just setting up potential future spending, not actually saving anything in the present. Bravo, DOGE.

One glaring instance of his utter incompetence was the reckless cancellation of crucial Ebola prevention efforts. In a staggering display of disregard, Musk brazenly acknowledged that errors would occur, yet he had the audacity to assure the public that they would be swiftly rectified. The statement from the world’s richest man claiming that Ebola prevention had not been hindered by DOGE cuts was fiercely contested by experts in infectious diseases, underscoring the grave concern over his mismanagement.

“What Elon Musk said today was just categorically untrue,” Dr. Craig Spencer, a doctor and Ebola specialist who has himself survived the often fatal diseasetold MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow.

An anonymous USAID official even chimed in, revealing that while there was a waiver for Ebola, funds have never been reinstated.

But wait, there’s more! Canceling these contracts doesn’t actually result in immediate savings, and in some cases, the government may not have even spent any money on them to begin with. So, the contracts that were supposed to improve government efficiency are now just adding to the growing list of issues with DOGE’s claims of cutting government waste. It’s like a never-ending cycle of bureaucratic nonsense.

DOGE’s attempts to save money are about as effective as trying to catch a unicorn. But hey, at least they’re consistent in their incompetence.

  • This is really getting strange – Saturday’s email to Federal Employees

Elon Musk, the self-proclaimed king of Twitter, has graciously decided to grace his loyal subjects (aka federal employees) with an email request to know what they actually did last week. How dare they not respond promptly to his royal decree? The nerve! The email, with the oh-so-casual subject line “What did you do last week?” was sent out faster than you can say “I work for a billionaire who thinks he’s a government official.”

And let’s not forget our dear leader, President Trump, who took time out of his busy schedule of tweeting to praise Musk for his valiant efforts in reducing the size of the federal government. Because who needs a functioning government anyway, right?

The president even went so far as to sign an executive order for agencies to start firing people left and right. Because nothing says “efficiency” like mass layoffs.

But fear not, dear citizens, for the Pentagon has announced plans to fire 5,400 employees. Because who needs a strong military when you have a billionaire and a reality TV star calling the shots? The American Federation of Government Employees have promised to fight back against these heartless terminations. Because nothing says “respect for veterans” like firing them from their jobs.

It’s truly heartwarming to see Musk and Trump working together to make America great again. Who needs checks and balances when you have billionaires and reality TV stars making all the decisions? So sit back, relax, and enjoy the show as America is run by the rich and powerful. What could possibly go wrong? Read POLITICO article here

  • Luxury hotels for immigrants another Elon Musk lie!

Elon Musk’s assertion is just a tad off the mark. Contrary to his belief, FEMA did not hand out cash directly to New York hotels; they actually provided funding to New York City. Shocking, I know. And guess what? It wasn’t some shady, under-the-table deal either. It was all part of a program established by Congress and financed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. So, before you go accusing FEMA of throwing money at luxury hotel rooms for immigrants, maybe do a little fact-checking first.

Oh, and by the way, FEMA didn’t just decide to start splurging on fancy accommodations for migrants out of the blue. In Trump’s first term they’ve been supporting states and organizations that assist immigrants with essential services. It’s all part of a little thing called the Shelter and Services Program, which was created in 2023 with the help of Congress. But hey, who needs accurate information when you can just jump to conclusions.

And let’s set the record straight – New York City isn’t exactly rolling out the red carpet for migrants in luxury hotel rooms. In 2024, they were actually spending less than the government’s per diem rate per night on hotel rooms. So, before you start spreading false claims about FEMA funding lavish accommodations, maybe take a closer look at the facts.

But hey Elon, who needs truth and accuracy when you can just stir up some controversy. So, in case you were wondering, we rate this claim as False. Shocking, I know.

  • Elon Musk, a walking conflict of interest

Standing resolutely beside the president in the hallowed halls of the Oval Office on Tuesday, Elon Musk fervently dismissed any apprehensions surrounding conflicts of interest. With unwavering confidence, he proclaimed that his role as chief executive officer in his companies bears little correlation to the contracts being negotiated. Are we truly so naive as to accept such a notion?

Elon Musk, the epitome of a walking conflict of interest, seems to have a knack for skirting around federal laws that prohibit Executive Branch employees from participating in matters that could impact their own financial interests. Tesla recently sealed a lucrative deal worth $767 million to supply batteries to Genera, the company now running Puerto Rico’s power plants. Meanwhile, SpaceX managed to secure an additional $7.5 million contract with NASA, adding to the already hefty $38 million deal with Musk’s private rocket company.

But wait, there’s more! Musk’s empire extends beyond Tesla and SpaceX to include X (formerly Twitter), xAI (a competitor to OpenAI), Neuralink (a startup focused on brain implants), Starlink (a satellite internet service), and the Boring Company (a tunnel drilling venture). Together, these companies have raked in a staggering $20 billion in US government contracts and subsidies. It’s almost as if Musk has mastered the art of leveraging his various ventures to line his pockets with taxpayer dollars.

In case you were wondering, the federal code 18 USC 208 clearly states that Executive Branch employees are prohibited from participating in government matters that could impact their financial interests or those of individuals they have ties with outside of the government. But hey, rules are made to be broken, right?

  • Trump and Musk are leaving veterans behind!

The federal government stands as the largest employer of veterans in the nation, with a staggering 2.278 million civilian federal employees, nearly 30 percent of whom are veterans. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) alone employs close to 371,000 health care professionals and support staff at VA medical facilities nationwide, overseeing benefits programs for veterans, their families, and survivors.

Despite the vital role these dedicated federal employees play, critics often decry government waste without acknowledging the fact that the civil service remains the same size as it was in the 1950s, despite the American population tripling since then. In reality, the federal government is at its smallest per capita in history, with many crucial agencies and services suffering from chronic understaffing. Drastically reducing the federal workforce would have catastrophic consequences not only for veterans but for all Americans.

The rapid and expansive efforts of individuals like Elon Musk have sparked frustration among some of President Trump’s aides, who lament a lack of coordination, including White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, according to sources cited by Reuters.

“I’ve given my all for this country, serving in the army and working for the Department of Defense for 17 years,” said Nick Gioia, a veteran feeling betrayed by a country he once proudly served. Trump claims to support veterans, but it’s clear he only cares about his billionaire friends.

To the veterans who backed Trump and the GOP, how does it feel to be betrayed and exploited? It’s time to lay aside those red hats and embrace what it truly means to be an American! The Army instills a powerful creed: we leave no man (person) behind!

  • Confidential information leaked on Elon Musk’s DOGE website

This week, some clever coders decided to play a little game of “let’s expose Elon Musk’s official Department of Government Efficiency website for all its security flaws.” And guess what? They hit the jackpot! The Huffington Post is now reporting that the website has gone ahead and published some top-secret classified data.

Apparently, DOGE (not the cute dog meme, but the Department of Government Efficiency) thought it would be a great idea to share some super classified NOFURN info about the intelligence community’s headcount. Now, everyone is running around like headless chickens trying to figure out if their sensitive information has been compromised.

One Defense Intelligence Agency employee, who shall remain nameless to avoid getting on the bad side of the big bosses, mentioned that NOFURN means “Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals.” In other words, keep your hands off unless you have a fancy authorization slip.

Elon Musk, the man behind SpaceX and a $1.8 billion contract with the National Reconnaissance Office, can’t really play dumb here. I mean, come on, he knows a thing or two about intelligence agencies.

DOGE sharing this top-secret info is just a minor hiccup in the grand scheme of things, right? According to some insider, these young programmers are just stumbling around in the dark when it comes to classified programs. Who knew, right?  Maybe there should be some normal oversight like an adult in the room.

So, now the National Reconnaissance Office is on high alert, trying to figure out if their offices have been infiltrated. It’s like a real-life spy thriller, but with less glamour and more panic. Oh, the joys of government efficiency under Musk and Trump!

  • The privacy of your Social Security checks and tax refunds have been turned over to Elon Musk!

So, get this – a 25-year-old engineer who just so happens to be connected to Elon Musk now has the keys to the kingdom when it comes to the computer code that controls Social Security payments, tax returns, and other important payments for Americans. Marko Elez, 25 years old, who used to work for two of Musk’s companies, now has the power to make changes to the Treasury Department systems that handle pretty much all the money flowing in and out of the U.S. government.

This crucial story has not been adequately addressed by the mainstream media, as Trump inundates the press with a barrage stories like trying to drink water from a fire hose.

I mean, what could possibly go wrong, right? Giving someone with little documentation and a million different coding choices the ability to rewrite critical systems seems like a totally solid plan. And let’s not forget that this guy has full access to make irreversible changes – because who needs security measures anyway? Who needs to worry about getting your Social Security check or tax refund, right?

But hey, it’s not like the economy or the government could be at risk or anything. According to one IT employee, having read privileges alone would have been bad enough, but giving this guy read and write access is basically setting the stage for doomsday. So, yeah, let’s just sit back and watch the chaos unfold. What could possibly go wrong?

Congress must urgently rally for immediate attention and decisive action to avert looming disasters that threaten our future!

  • United States Agency for International Development closed down, putting billions of dollars in foreign aid at risk

USAID, funded by Congress, is apparently under threat of being shut down by the unelected billionaire, Musk, who also happens to run a federal advisory commission that may or may not be breaking the law.

In the meantime, the USAID website has mysteriously disappeared, and numerous employees have been placed on leave for refusing to comply with a questionable funding freeze imposed by Trump. Musk’s tech bros even sent out an email declaring the office closed, leaving everyone in limbo.

Despite the lack of legal authority, Trump and Musk seem determined to close USAID, an agency created by President Kennedy in 1961. Any major changes to the agency would require congressional approval, and freezing congressionally approved funding would violate the Impoundment Control Act of 1974.

Closing USAID would have catastrophic consequences for millions of people worldwide, not to mention Americans at home. The agency plays a crucial role in preventing the spread of deadly diseases, but apparently, that’s not a priority for the billionaire class trying to take over the government.

In the words of Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy, this is a blatant attempt by the right-wing billionaire class to steal from the American people.
