Dictator Trump looks to purge FBI … first steps to hiding crimes to come

This week, President Trump dismissed several FBI agents due to their involvement in the January 6th case against him, despite the fact that they were merely executing their duties. This action raises concerns about his commitment to law enforcement and adherence to the rule of law, particularly in relation to his own transgressions.

Nine FBI agents have taken legal action against the US Justice Department in an attempt to prevent the collection of information on agents who were investigating President Donald Trump. The agents, who remain anonymous for their own safety, have accused Trump’s acting attorney general, James McHenry, of orchestrating a politically motivated purge within the FBI.  We all know how FBI agents put their lives on the line protecting us.

The FBI agents argue that the directive to compile a list of employees involved in the Capitol riot investigation is both unlawful and retaliatory. They have requested a federal judge to intervene and prevent any further actions against the agents who were simply doing their jobs.

It is concerning that the Justice Department has already fired officials who were involved in prosecuting Trump for his attempts to overturn the 2020 election results. The FBI agents fear that the compilation of this list is a precursor to terminating their employment or taking other adverse actions against them.

It is crucial that law enforcement officers receive support from their colleagues across the nation. We should be emailing and calling our senators and congresspersons to support them in this illegal action against them. They deserve respect and appreciation for their dedication to protecting and serving their communities, not unwarranted termination. Let us stand in solidarity with these agents and ensure that they are not unjustly punished for carrying out their duties.
